Operational Management Experience
- 22+ years of extensive experience in many areas of FMCG manufacturing operations.
- Administrative background, including facility planning and supervisory experience. Supervision of teams of 50+ people (in some instances even larger teams).
- Involved in most aspects of Human Resources in different countries with experience from hiring to staff management.
- “Start up” experience from single manufacturing lines or individual machinery to complete factory start-ups including machine installation, compliance aspects as well as human capital integration.
- Broad experience in various Legal Compliance Requirements accumulated through involvement in a variety of projects in different countries (Food Safety, Organizational Health and Safety [OSH], Local Councils Bylaws, Employment Act, etc).
- Good understanding of business basic financial instruments (Cash Flows, Budgets, Cost analysis, Price Structuring, etc).
- Experience with warehouse management, from warehouse configuration to dispatching. Improved the warehousing capabilities by using “Visual Workplace” concepts, FIFA (first in first out) policies, Allergen management, tractability systems,
etc.
- Good eye for detail and skilled in continuous monitoring and finding solutions for cost saving (i.e. based on basic lean manufacturing principles, I have implemented changes over a period of about 3 years that ended up in significant and consistent savings).
- Experience in developing good teams and motivating people.
- Exposure to a very large variety of tasks within a business, giving a good general understanding of a business as a whole, helping to make decisions based on “the bigger picture” rather than addressing an issue from a limited perspective.
- Very skilled in identifying and diagnosing problems as well as finding solutions.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles with many examples throughout my career to reflect the implementation of the basic concepts, resulting in quality improvement, waste reduction and production increase.
- Experience in Change Management gained by developing and implementing new SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for a vast variety of jobs from manufacturing to retail, adjusted to meet OSH requirements and Food Safety recommendations where required. For Example: I developed 2 factory Manuals and implemented the changes in the work place.
- Vast knowledge of HACCP gained through development, implementation and management of a few different FSP’s (Food Safety Programmes) for different companies, i.e. I developed 3 different FSP and implemented and managed 2 of them over time.
- I have carried out many audits in the last 10 years from standard FSP audits to more in-depth audits for large organizations e.g. Fonterra, UK Ministry of Defense, Isagenix –a large US pharmaceutical company.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems gained through creating and managing Quality Assurance departments as well as developing quality reference standards for production.
- Extensive Supply and Production Planning experience.
- Good negotiation skills developed over time by working with suppliers, customers and contractors.
- Ability to find new suppliers and new supply channels.
- Very good understanding of technical matters, from mechanical and electrical aspects to food functionality and the correlation between all these factors in a production process - knowledge attained through training, backed up with many years of hands on experience (gained through personal involvement in all aspects of production and maintenance and working directly with all specialized trades personnel during start ups and maintenance).
- Extensive technological experience acquired by implementing, improving or developing new technologies for new or existing products.
- I have gained experience in product compliance from developing Product Specification to food standard compliance and labelling requirements and other legal aspects related to products, including some import – export related requirements.
- Proven product development experience with more than 50 products developed from concept and recipe development up to“ready for market” stage including technology implementation, with a few of the products being highly rewarded with medals.
- Very good understanding of ingredient functionality and their inter-dependence in a manufacturing process, based on a strong chemistry background.
- Vast experience with ingredients related to confectionery industry.
-Marketing knowledge acquired through market research and analysis and through direct implication into the development of a franchise systems.
